  • Top 8 Hidden Symptoms of Type 2 Diabetes

Today about 463 million adults (20-79 years) are living with diabetes; by 2045 this will rise to 700 million. The official statistics of diabetes mellitus and its actual prevalence, which can be estimated indirectly, differ approximately threefold.

Here are eight symptoms that can indicate the hidden development of diabetes in you or your loved ones.

Of course, the final diagnosis is made by an endocrinologist based on special tests, but by checking the list, you can determine whether you need to go to the doctor and do those special tests.

    1. Thirst and increased urination

It is logical that thirst and urination are interrelated: the more we drink, the more often we go to the toilet. However, if you have to get up two or more times a night, this may mean that your kidneys are working at a high rate to remove excess glucose from your blood.

Thirst also increases automatically – the body tries to replenish the liquid lost for sugar elimination.

By the way, sharp weight loss can sometimes also be a sign of violations. In type 2 diabetes, insulin does not cope with delivering glucose to the cells, and the cells (including muscle cells) perceive this as starvation, begin to destroy protein so that the total body weight decreases for no apparent reason.

    2. Increased appetite

If you have an increased appetite, but you continue to lose weight, this is a worrying sign. Hunger attacks occur due to spikes in blood glucose levels: when it falls after a sharp increase, the body perceives this as a signal for the next meal.

    3. Fatigue and irritability

Of course, these symptoms are not always associated with diabetes, but in particular. Sharp changes in glucose levels, poor sleep and frequent urge to urinate have a bad effect on the psychological state

    4. Skin changes

Irritation, scratching, dryness, pallor, or spots of discoloration of the usual skin color are associated with the fact that the normal nutrition of the dermis cells is disrupted. Skin, nails, and hair suffer first when there are problems with nutrition and metabolism.

    5. Slow, poor wound healing and recovery from diseases

The classic symptom of diabetes is a more prolonged illness than that of ordinary people. The same applies to wounds. This is a classic symptom: blood vessels in diabetes are damaged by high glucose levels, so the microcirculation is disrupted, and wounds heal more slowly.

    6. Fungal infections

The logic is the same as with bacterial infections and skin changes: impaired blood circulation and microcirculation make the skin particularly susceptible to fungal diseases.

    7. Blurred vision

Loss of vision or blurred vision can be signs of circulatory disorders and eye nutrition, which are often associated with diabetes.

    8. Tingling or numbness

These are signs that diabetic changes affect the nerves. The same kind of symptom is pain in the muscles. If the symptoms are relatively recent, they can be reversed if you start treatment at the time, the main part of which, of course, is a change in diet.

    • Introduction to Keto Diet for Beginners
      by Antony Convey

“Ketogenic” means producing ketones. Ketones are products of processing fatty acids, which are formed in the body in two ways: due to the breakdown of one's own fat during starvation or due to the consumption of large amounts of fat with food, provided there are no carbohydrates in the diet.

Ketones can be used by all body cells to produce energy, while they have the ability to stimulate the breakdown of their own endogenous fat.
